The Teachers' Writing Academy was held concurrently with our Young Writers' Academy, so teachers spent the first few days observing our demonstration classroom. After the young writers went home at lunchtime, we spent the afternoon reflecting, learning, and collaborating. Later in the week, teachers had a chance to immediately apply new strategies by conferencing with students. The students definitely benefited from the additional feedback!
